MEPCO Load Shedding Schedule 2025

Learn how MEPCO manages load shedding, how to find your area's schedule, and what to do when there's unscheduled power outage beyond your normal schedule.

What is Load Shedding?

Load shedding — technically called planned load management — is the deliberate, scheduled reduction of electricity supply to certain areas for a defined period. MEPCO implements load shedding when the total electricity demand in South Punjab exceeds the available supply from the national grid.

Unlike a random power failure or transformer fault, load shedding follows a schedule that MEPCO prepares in advance based on area demand, feeder capacity, payment recovery rates, and generator availability. Areas with higher line losses or lower bill payment rates tend to face longer load shedding hours under NEPRA's differential load shedding policy.

How to Find Your Load Shedding Schedule

01

MEPCO Official Website

Visit www.mepco.com.pk and look for the "Load Shedding Schedule" or "Loadshedding" section. Schedules are uploaded feeder-by-feeder and updated as conditions change.

02

Contact Your Local MEPCO Office

Your nearest MEPCO sub-division office has the most up-to-date schedule for your specific feeder. You can visit in person or call the sub-division phone number. See our Helpline page for numbers by city.

03

Social Media / Local Notice Boards

MEPCO's regional offices often share updated load shedding schedules on their Facebook pages and local WhatsApp broadcast groups. Your neighbourhood association or local councillor may also circulate these schedules.

Scheduled vs. Unscheduled Load Shedding

Scheduled Load Shedding

Planned cuts that appear on MEPCO's official schedule. Typically 4–10 hours per day in residential areas, depending on overall supply situation. Announced in advance.

Unscheduled Tripping

Sudden outages caused by transformer failure, line fault, or overloading — not part of any schedule. Report these immediately to 0800-00118 for priority restoration.

How to Report Unscheduled Load Shedding

If your area is experiencing power outages beyond its scheduled load shedding — especially for more than 2 hours beyond the planned duration — you have the right to lodge a complaint with MEPCO. Here's how:

  • Call toll-free: 0800-00118 (24/7)
  • SMS your area name and reference number to 8118
  • Email: complaint@mepco.com.pk
  • Lodge complaint via MEPCO's CCMS portal
  • Escalate to NEPRA at 051-9207200 if MEPCO is unresponsive
💡 Note: mepcobill.pk is an independent website. We do not publish or maintain live load shedding schedules. Schedules are managed by MEPCO and are subject to change without notice based on grid conditions.
